Placebo Extreme is a fansite dedicated to the fantastic rock band Placebo. We are a friendly site that does not post rumours or anything that can be taken as gossip. We like to announce all of the latest new when we get it. Occasionally we may get a tip off about something which is to happen but unless it is officially confirmed we don’t post it.

 Placebo Extreme is maintained and run by Miki, who also runs the forums. We also have Excalibur who is the forum moderator who helps Miki with the forum. Placebo Extreme was first launched in February 2003 under its original name of ‘Second Sight’ originally it was a very small website with a few photo’s and just little bits of news posted. Back then I didn’t really have a clue about web design or how to build and maintain a website so it was trial an error with the first site. After a while I got used to how things worked and I could design more in detail. Second sight quickly had a v.2 launched which was a bit better then the original few pages. We quickly started receiving frequent visitors.

In 2005 it was time for a change, the entire website was taken offline and completely re-furbished with new features being added. It took about 4 months and in September 2005 we re-launched as Placebo Extreme, we started to get many more visitors and at one point we was even the most viewed music website in China. Quite an achievement.

 In 2007 Placebo Extreme was once again offline as the web host failed to renew our contract so we lost the domain name and had to register a different one. We took the opportunity to re-do the entire site again. Launching in May 2007.

 In the spring of 2009 I received an email from my web host informing me they were ending their hosting plans. I was left with no software as I was used to using the host software so I had to find something new. Eventually I found a decent host and begun to re-design the new & improved Placebo Extreme. I’m really pleased with out current layout and look and I hope you are too. It’s now been 6 years since we originally launched and we hope to be around for many more years to come.
